Nikhil brings experience in systems design and technology development to the ZeroUI team. With 4 patents, 12+ peer reviewed publications and a wide spectra of projects, he greatly adds to the team’s overall technical innovation. His journey with Ziro, then HandiMake, started as a Masters’ graduate student at Purdue University under Prof. Karthik Ramani. He now leads the embedded software and hardware development efforts within ZeroUI and is involved in establishing lean processes for overall design and manufacturing.

Prior to ZeroUI, Nikhil worked at the Advanced Controls Research group at Cummins Emission Solutions and formulated unique optimization techniques to reduce harmful exhaust emissions.

Prior to his Masters’, he worked with the Advanced Engineering division at Robert Bosch GmbH, where he devised technology adoption strategies for 2-wheeler electric vehicles for emerging markets.

Nikhil was a race car engineer during his undergrad studies and developed key indigenous technologies for on-board power management, telemetry, seamless gear shifting amongst others. 8 years later and he is still passionately involved with various Formula Student programs and serves as an Adviser to Purdue’s Electric Racing Team and the Ashwa Racing Team.

When he isn’t baking circuits in the office toaster oven, you could find him in the woods trekking or driving away to his next adventure.
